A Winter Tree

A long time ago,

When I was leafy and shady

All were envious of my mien

But when time changed

It changed me too.

All my leaves left me, alone,

Standing sadly besides the way,

Left thinking about the days

When I was tall; I was shady,

Now I am hidden in

The attire of ice, now I am

Living with the scars;

Now I am a winter tree;

Now I am a winter tree.
