Submission Guidelines for Full-Length Poetry Collections

We welcome submissions of full-length poetry manuscripts that reflect originality, depth, and emotional resonance. Please read the following guidelines carefully before submitting your work.

What to Submit:

• Cover Letter: Introduce yourself and your manuscript. Tell us a bit about your background, your poetic journey, and why you believe your work aligns with The Poetry Lighthouse. Feel free to include any relevant publication history or personal connection to the themes in your manuscript.

• Manuscript:

  • We accept full-length manuscripts ranging from 60 to 200 pages (minimum 60 pages, no exceptions).

  • Format: Manuscripts should be submitted as a single document in .doc, .docx, or .pdf format.

  • Please use 12-point Times New Roman, single-spaced, with clear section breaks and page numbers.

  • Include a title page with the manuscript title and your name and contact information.

• Samples/Incomplete Manuscripts: 

  • If your manuscript is still in progress but you would like feedback on whether your work might be a good fit before completing it, you're welcome to submit a sample selection (10–15 pages) along with a brief project description.

Contract and Publishing Terms:

The Poetry Lighthouse operates on a traditional publishing model with deep respect for the author’s voice and vision.

• Production Costs: The Publisher will cover all production costs, including editing, formatting, printing, cover design, ISBN/barcode, marketing, and distribution.

• Royalties: Once production costs have been recouped, net profits (defined as income after production expenses) will be split 50/50 between Author and Publisher.

Language Policy:

• We primarily accept manuscripts written in English.

• Manuscripts in Spanish, French, Italian, or Hindi are also welcome but must be translated into English by one of our in-house translators and will be published as bilingual editions.

• Manuscripts in other languages must be accompanied by an accurate English translation.

Within 4 weeks after your submission we will contact you. If our editors accept the manuscript we will proceed to the contract and all the editing and publishing details.
