Aladdin’s Genie
There I sat in the lifeless room alone, a habitat without illumination,
Remembering what led to this bizarre self – regression.
I always wanted to maze through the limitless selflessly,
But all my shackles would let me do is sit and needlessly gaze –
At the glimmering sphere of gold.
I crawled wearily at it, trying to define the form,
What! A Lamp, a Genie’s Lamp!
I felt a naughty curiosity opening the door to my ruthlessness.
I brushed my palm against its untainted side and a cloud barged out…
Ay Aladdin! A giant blue teardrop glared at me as it came out,
As in a fairytale, I thought he might ask for the prototypical ‘Three Wishes’,
But there he was breaking my shackles, and in no time, I was soaring.
I was soaring on the blue drop, shooting past the sky.
I realized he knew my dreams,
And came to prevent me from losing myself.
He stopped and asked me, “Walad, what’s your last wish?”
“Help me explore myself”, I said,
And there it began, the exploration-
The eternal exploration.
