Doctor Zhivago

You were too far from home

You left love to find none

Left the rain to hide from the sun.

You sat in a bar

Watching Doctor Zhivago;

The plot thickened

As time was wasted–

More distance created.

You were too long away from home

Wandering like an orphan

While you made one of your own;

Sat in a bar

Starting a war

Losing memories

Before our life had begun

You made me listen to your stories

While I wrote one of my own,

Never far from home

Watching Doctor Zhivago

Alone.
