Lie Beneath My Celestial Canvas
The sun sets, my heart rises filling me with glee.
To question the universe, the meaning of life’s tapestry.
We, celestial explorers, painters of the dark sky.
Crafting a cosmic canvas, capturing heaven upon high.
The distant mountains are charcoal, dark as the night,
Illuminated by Venus, white-hot, and bright.
Waves of whispering clouds and a dusting of stars
There can you see? The red dot is warring Mars?
Our eyes marvel at the vastness above just us.
A shimmering dash of yellow - it’s called Sirius.
We stencil the Plough, tracing a Stella path I do wager.
There, seven stars, the constellation of Ursa Major.
Polaris above, the North Star that guides those lost at sea,
Celebrated by sailors, countless lovers - now you and me.
A majestic smiling moon, a translucent sphere,
With you by my side I have nothing to dread, or fear.
So pick a star my love, I suggest the bottom right,
A declaration of our love; on this astronomic night.
