Thin Places

I’ll meet you 

where the boundary between

heaven and earth comes closer

                   and impossibly clear.

On the mystical cloud island of Mauna Kea,

a full rainbow over the ocean within reach,

sunsets of light scattering volcanic dust,

                              dolphins encircling me.

A glimpse of the deep,

an impromptu sensing of the divine,

feeling a jolt of recognition,

                     encountering the sacred.

Lifting me up out of this world,

                         Quieting my soul.
