David Punter
David Punter is a poet, writer and literary critic. He has published poetry in many small magazines on both sides of the Atlantic, including The Puckerbrush Review, Ariel, Orbis, Acumen, The Rialto, Reach Poetry, PN Review and many others; as well as several small collections, including China and Glass, Those Other Fields, Stranger, Ship’s Log and Fantasia: Lands of Dream. He lives in a village outside Bristol, UK, where he enjoys gardening and spends a lot of time supporting a local refugee centre, of which he is a trustee. He has previously lived and worked in Scotland, Hong Kong and China.
His canon of poets includes a number of mavericks, including Blake and Charles Bukowski; as well as supreme lyricists like Sir Thomas Wyatt and Leonard Cohen. He is an avid reader of popular fiction, from Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie to Stephen King and Lee Child. He has written an awful lot of books on his lifelong preoccupation with the Gothic.
