John O’Hare
Hello there, I’m an artist and writer currently based in Bristol, UK. My work takes a darkly comic approach to themes of alienation and trauma.
My work has been influenced by reading Fernando Pessoa, Robert Walser, and Mikhail Zoschenko. These writers had a way of producing work like Impressionist sketches and I share their disgust and fascination for bureaucracy, crowds, and the relentless march of technology.
My work has most recently been published in Issue 15 of Fleas on the Dog (Staying Hungry) and Issue 9 of Fauxmoir Literary Magazine (Together We Are Vast). I have recently completed a novel which I’d describe as a satirical dystopian coming-of-age tale, a bit like Time Bandits remade by Ken Loach.
