P.J Lenox

Hello Poetry Lighthouse, I’m P.J. Lenox from the United States. I graduated from a small Buddhist University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. In 7th grade, I was introduced to poetry through the writings of Langston Hughes and have been writing ever since. Recently, I published my first collection of poems, Twelve Bars and the Truth.

In addition to writing, I’m also a musician and songwriter; my love of music often influences my poetry and vice versa. I’m an avid blues fan as well as a fan of hip-hop and rap. Some of my favorite artists include Mississippi John Hurt, Blind Willie McTell, Samantha Fish, Kendrick Lamar, and Outkast. My favorite writers include Langston Hughes, Kae Tempest, Dorothy Allison, and Frank Stanford. When I’m not writing, I can usually be found outside working on my ranch, hiking, or playing basketball.
