Ted Mc Carthy
Ted Mc Carthy is a poet and playwright from Clones, Ireland. His poetry has been published widely in Ireland, Europe and the USA. He gave the opening reading at the inaugural Flat Lake Festival in 2008, and he has been involved in related projects since. His debut collection NovemberWedding, won the 1999 Brendan Behan Award. Radio plays include The American Room and Requiem for a Hotel, both part of the National Decade of Centenaries project.
Having come to the conclusion over the years that art is indivisible, he regards composers such as Bach, Gerald Finzi and Suzanne Ciani as influential on his writing as the work of Yeats, Kavangh or Marina Carr.
