Robbyne Leigh

Hi Poetry Lighthouse!

My name is Robbyne.

I am thrilled to have the privilege of joining all of the wonderful writers and poetry lovers here! While I have spent most of my life writing as a hobby, this is my first time sharing my work beyond my personal life. I am from the US, and have lived in six different states throughout my life.

Several years ago, I had an accident that left me with a mild traumatic brain injury, chronic illness, and wheelchair dependent. It was a drastic life change to say the least. Throughout this time, I’ve found my writing to be a powerful outlet for healing and using my voice. I find the most inspiration and peace sitting by the water to write. I’ve written everything from poetry to song lyrics and anything in between.

I also love theatre, and have seen hundreds of Broadway shows. I was pursuing theatre professionally prior to my accident. I spent several years working as an extra in the film and television industry in New York City. Some of my other hobbies include singing and crafting. Mental health and particularly the need for ending the stigma surrounding it, are something I am very passionate about. I am a deep thinker, an empath and an introvert. I enjoy reading, researching and learning new things. I could easily spend a whole day in a library or bookstore. I have a mild addiction to iced coffee. My lifelong goal has been to write a book, and I hope to make that dream come true in the near future.
