Libby O’Reilly

Hi, my name is Libby and I am a literature Master’s graduate from the University of Edinburgh. As of recently, I have worked with university partnerships including King’s College London where I supported Master’s students with their studies. I am hugely passionate about education and literature, hence why I have got involved with the wonderful project that is The Poetry Lighthouse. Like studying, the process of writing poetry is an ever evolving and dynamic one. I am invested in helping others bring their works to life and hopefully learning something myself along the way.

I enjoy writing poetry, attending spoken word events, as well as producing content for my blog and podcast. I love to read and am always discovering amazing texts and authors both from the past and present. Some of my favourite authors are Carson McCullers, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Zora Neale Hurston. I immerse myself in a wide range of poetry, however, recently I have been appreciating poets of the Beat generation after a trip to the City Lights Bookstore in San Francisco, including Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac and Frank O’Hara.
