Maeve Green

Hi, my name is Maeve. I’m an undergraduate student studying English and Related Literature at the University of York. 

My literary passions include folklore, urban legend, mythology, classical literature and the Romantics (though I also enjoy a well written fantasy or horror-thriller novel to cozy up with on an evening).

My favourite novel is ‘Wuthering Heights’, by Emily Brontë. I have multiple copies of the book and it definitely influenced my decision to study in beautiful York where the wild moors are never far. I love reading translations of literature from all over the world, and have had the fortune of studying some of York’s ‘World of Literature’ modules which have introduced me to texts by authors from African, American, Middle Eastern and many more backgrounds. 

My personal hobbies include walks through parks and the country, reading (some other favourite authors include Derek Landy and Stephen King), and being a full time film junkie.
