Megan Levick
Hello! My name is Meg, and I am an editor at The Poetry Lighthouse.
I have an undergraduate degree in English Literature and Creative Writing from Liverpool John Moores University and I will be beginning my MA in Publishing this autumn at Manchester Metropolitan University.
Ever since being young, I have been an ardent reader and my passion for the literary world has only continued to develop throughout my adult years. I have a love for all genres of fiction and cherish works from authors across many decades. I particularly admire the work of poets such as William Wordsworth, Sylvia Plath, Wendy Cope, Carol Ann Duffy Frank O’Hara, Margaret Atwood, Maya Angelou, Anne Sexton, Ocean Vuong, Mary Oliver and John Cooper Clarke. For me, the allure of the written word lies with its capacity to capture the fragility, charm and complexity of the human experience through heartfelt and profound explorations of love, joy, and everything else in-between.
Beyond my academic and professional journey, my personal hobbies include reading, going to the cinema, watching sunsets, record collecting, listening to music and volunteering at a local bookshop. I enjoy writing poetry and attending spoken word events whilst also writing and editing for a number of different publications. I also enjoy spending lots of time with my dog Teddy and taking him for walks on the beach.
I am passionate about celebrating art and creativity of all kinds, and therefore I am incredibly happy to be part of The Poetry Lighthouse community and look forward to editing your work!
