Sahana Bar
Greetings! I am Sahana Bar, a fervent poet and an amateur fiction writer from India.
To me, knowledge is like an element of sustenance; I long to know as much as possible. This hunger for education massively influenced my love for poetry and reconstructed my conception of fiction writing. Being an Indian, I am acquainted with speaking Bengali and Hindi primarily, yet I am trying to expand my linguistic capabilities. Ever since I was a toddler, mumbling English nursery rhymes was super fascinating, and when I reached the age of ten, I wrote my first poem, ‘The Night’. This epiphany has led me to walk through the poetic world since then.
I am a college student, studying at St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata. I am persevering to acquire my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in English Literature. Constant exposure to so many spheres of English itself has precisely become the most powerful weapon to derive any poetic idea from every possible thing that exists.
I prefer exploring the literary genres of Romance, Mystery, Dark Fantasy and Religious writing. ‘The Fault in Our Stars’, ‘A Tale of Two Cities’, ‘The Catcher in the Rye’, and ‘The Alchemist’ are some of my favorites. I have no specific favorite poem because I fall in love with every poem I read.
Apart from being poetic, I find pleasure in singing, blogging, reading, and exploring various bookstores.
Initially, I had the power to create ideas, but did not have a reliable company to share my creations with. With God’s grace, I met The Poetry Lighthouse Team, and they promised to succor my journey. They trained and supported me with the utmost patience and gave me confidence to take my first step towards success. Since then, I was able to publish all my works under the guidance of the talented editors, and now I am so proud to be a part of them.
