Sahana Bar

Sahana Bar is an enthusiastic poet and a flash fiction writer from India whose love of the English language compelled her to play mental crosswords. Love, dark fantasy, and the beauty of nature are the main subjects of her poetry. She is an undergraduate student studying at St. Xavier’s University. Since her childhood, she has been scribbling short verses based on her imagination. Inspired by several poets, she chose to explore her thoughts and delve deeper into them.

Since she was a young child, she has been an avid admirer of Enid Blyton, and she also enjoys reading novels by Dan Brown. The writings of Ruskin Bond, Shakespeare, and Emily Brontë greatly influenced her. She holds dear A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. She wrote her first poem when she was ten years old, and since then, it has been a regular habit. She has published several poems with The Poetry Lighthouse: ‘An Artistic Dilemma’, ‘Singularity’, ‘Just Justice’, ‘Aladdin’s Genie', and ‘My Mother & I’.

Initially, she aspired to be a singer, however, her exposure to the imaginative world molded her creativity. She’s a book reviewer and maintains her own blog, ‘Sahana’s Reviews’. She is a devoted Swiftee and a movie buff. She occasionally tries painting and is rather crafty. She is really fond of animals. "Everything is possible when one has faith in God, and if something doesn't work out, there's a reason for that," she said.
